Contrary to what many people think, effective weed control must be tailored to specific areas where weeds are popping up. What works for one weed variety, may not work for another…
Rather than a one-size fits all approach, we ensure the optimal weeding methods, products, and equipment are used. This depends on the weed variety, the zone weeds are appearing (e.g. lawns versus paving), as well as the types of plants surrounding weeds. For example, where weeds overwhelm highly sensitive flowering plants, we only hand-pull them to ensure the plant isn’t accidentally damaged with weed spray.

While we recommend regular weeding throughout the year, sometimes a seasonal weed is all you need. Two Gloves’ seasonal weeding services are most popular in spring after the winter weeds have had their run of the yard.
However, despite a spike in weed growth during winter, there’s really no “ideal” time for weeding. Although some weeds present seasonally, most attack and invade gardens throughout the year, no matter the season! Regular weeding ensures your outdoor spaces look beautiful and won’t hurt little feet or paws with prickly weed varieties.

HEDGE TRIMMING, PRUNING & WEEDING
"Scott did a great job, we have huge gum trees on our block and the leaves just get out of hand. Scott was very efficient and fast sweeping most of them up."
We used our chainsaw for the thick branches first, allowing us to prune it right back to the fenced area, cutting off thick branches using our pole pruner. Then, we neatened it up using our hedge trimmer.
They also had couch grass (a very invasive grass species, but also one of our favourites) growing over their pathways. It was like this when they moved in and until we pointed it out, they hadn’t actually realised there were bricks under these areas — which tells you how thick the overgrown grass was! We would usually apply a herbicide to remove these grasses, but as an avid gardener, Peta preferred not to have chemicals in her yard so we instead used an organic alternative — vinegar! This was sprayed all over the overgrown areas, and in two weeks we’ll come back (once it’s died) to rip it all up.
To finish the job, we disposed a trailer of green waste at Tamala Park tip centre.
